SEO & AI search questions

Clear answers before we work together.

How websites, local SEO and AI search visibility fit together, what GEO means and what to expect from the partnership.

Which businesses do you help?

Our focus is local service businesses across Canada: home and property services, trades, local professional services and medical aesthetics. We look for clear service priorities, capacity to serve customers and a team ready to share its expertise. Medical aesthetics remains a specialty through Manny’s experience operating Youth Bar; the agency also welcomes other industries that fit this local service model.

What does Second Chair Growth do?

We help local service businesses improve how customers find and understand them through their website, organic search, local results and AI search. The work can include website builds or improvements, technical SEO, service and location content, Google Business Profile improvements, useful customer answers and visibility reporting. Your proposal identifies the priorities and deliverables for your business.

What does GEO mean, and how does it fit with SEO?

GEO stands for generative engine optimization. We use it to describe work that helps AI search systems discover, understand and reference your business and its content. It sits within our AI Search Visibility service and works alongside SEO. Clear answers, accessible pages, accurate business information and credible expertise support the same connected plan.

Can you get our business recommended by Google or ChatGPT?

We can improve the foundations that help search engines and AI systems discover, understand and reference your business. Google’s AI search features still rely on established SEO foundations. Platforms choose what they show, and responses can vary with the question, location and context. We do not guarantee rankings, AI recommendations, citations, bookings or revenue.

How long does SEO and AI search work take to show results?

Search visibility develops over time. Some technical improvements can be completed early, while changes in discovery and enquiries depend on your starting point, competition, content and how platforms process updates. We establish a baseline, agree on a staged plan and review progress regularly. We do not attach a fixed results deadline to every business.

How do you measure progress?

We review organic search performance, local discovery, relevant website visits and enquiry, quote request or booking actions where tracking is available. For AI search, we use available citation reports and repeat a defined set of relevant questions. Those checks capture observed visibility, not every answer a customer sees. We explain attribution gaps and keep citations, visits and confirmed business outcomes distinct.

Do you manage Google Ads or Meta ads?

No. Second Chair Growth’s service is focused on websites, local SEO and AI search visibility. Google Ads and Meta advertising campaign management are not included. If your business already runs ads, we can take that activity into account when reviewing traffic and enquiries so the reporting does not attribute paid results to organic search.

Can you build a website or improve the one we have?

Yes. We can scope a website build, redesign or improvements to your existing site. We first assess its structure, content, mobile experience, technical access and enquiry path. The proposal makes the pages, content, integrations and responsibilities clear, along with any ongoing SEO work. Your starting point determines the right approach.

What does an engagement cost and how long does it last?

We prepare a tailored proposal after reviewing your business’s website, market and priorities. It sets out the SEO and AI search work, deliverables, fees, timing and responsibilities. The agreement also explains the engagement term and cancellation arrangements before you commit.

Who actually does the work?

Manny leads the strategy, priorities, performance review and client relationship. Trusted specialists may support technical or content execution where needed. You have a clear point of accountability and know what is being worked on, why it matters and what comes next.

What does our business need to provide?

We need appropriate website and reporting access, accurate information about your services and service areas, original expertise and timely approvals. Your team checks factual details and specialist claims. For medical aesthetics clients, a qualified clinician reviews treatment information. Your team also responds to enquiries and records outcomes where possible, so stronger visibility has a clear path to a customer conversation.

Who owns our accounts and content?

Your business keeps ownership of its domain, website and core search and analytics accounts. We request access through user permissions wherever possible. The agreement sets out ownership and handover of content created for your business, along with any third-party licences or subscriptions, so those terms are clear before work begins.

Do you work with businesses in Halifax, and how do you handle conflicts?

Yes. We work with local service businesses in Halifax, across HRM and elsewhere in Canada. Because Manny co-owns Youth Bar, we do not work with medical aesthetics clinics that compete with Youth Bar within HRM. This restriction does not apply to unrelated trades or other service businesses. Each client’s data, account access and business information remain confidential. Any additional market protection is defined in the client agreement.

What does the Youth Bar story demonstrate?

Youth Bar is the source of Manny’s experience operating a medical aesthetics clinic. It informs how he thinks about service demand, customer questions, team capacity and commercial priorities. Its overall business growth involved several factors and is not presented as proof of revenue generated by SEO or AI search alone. Client search results will be assessed against documented baselines and available evidence.
